Last weekend, LOLI performed at the rave called “ALL MOST BETTER THAN SEX.” She’s claimed that it was her last rave.

Not only is the Southern Cali rave scene a snore, it keeps getting dirtier and dirtier. From cholo gangsters parading around with out shirts on with neon bandannas, and raves being at the same venues every weekend…it’s fully died. Promoters are a bitch to deal with, and since these ‘raves’ are held at ‘venues’ there is crappy security that doesn’t help much.

At “ILLUMINATE” a rave that Loli played on June 6th, the set up for Serato was incorrect, resulting in Loli’s laptop to crash every time it was plugged in. She attempted to play with CDJ’s but gave up once Swedish said it wasn’t worth it. Unable to keep her laptop on for more than 5 seconds, the LOLILAND crew left and went to a better party.

For AMBTS, Loli pulled off an amazing set. the Turntables were stolen right before she went on stage, but she managed to spin on serato, then with one turntable once it arrived. Once the set was done, Loli begun to put away her things. Several people were piling onto the stage and it was hard to control people. One minute we had to have people back off from Loli, the other minute we were being filmed for LOLILAND TV & BOX8… she finished packing her stuff, sat on the stairs, stood up, and within those few seconds…someone ran off with her large pink Betsy bag containing all of her DJ equipment and other valuables. Distracted we could not discover what was going on, until the Loliland crew saw Loli’s face change. One second it was full of joy, the next, lost in dread.

No security was on stage to keep people away…only on the other stage in the Hudson & Gotham venue. I ran to the door and the security guard dumbfounded said that he saw a ‘large hispanic shirtless male’ run off with a pink bag. Maybe it was someone else other than the person he saw with a pink bag…but we don’t know, he talked nervous and unsure of himself.

Raves should be like they were in the 90s again. Found out the day of by clues, Downtown LA…not in the middle of San Bernadino…in an abandoned warehouse or intriguing building…to provide the excitement of what they once were. For people to go there to dance, and enjoy electronic music. Not to be taken over by ‘ghetto’ people that are there to roll, thinks Benny Benassi is the only DJ if they know of any, and 13 yr old girls running around in a thong and pasties.

I believe that if these venues get shut down raves will liven up again, and stop being such a snore.
Anyway I’m over raves in Southern California, I think I could only be able to go to ones in another country now….maybe San Francisco or NYC but I think I’m just over that scene in general.
